What Is The Easiest Way To Thinly Slice Chicken

Using thinly sliced chicken is a great way to get the chicken to cook evenly and without issues. For this to work best, you can easily buy smaller chicken breasts and ones that are not thick.

If you want to thin out your chicken, you can try one of two methods.

Option 1: Use a meat mallet to pound the chicken to make it thinner. Simply put your chicken breast into a Ziploc bag and pound it out into a flatter piece of meat.

If you dont have a meat mallet, you can try option 2.

Option 2: Take your chicken breast and slice it in half. This will make that thicker chicken breast a lot thinner and easier to slice and cook if you prefer further instructions, check out how to butterfly chicken breasts.

Option 3: Buy thin-cut chicken breasts at the grocery store or ask your butcher to thin slice chicken breast.

Tips For The Best Parmesan Crusted Chicken

This recipe is pretty easy, but here are a few tips to make sure you can get great results the first time.

  • First, you should know that this recipe works best with shredded Parmesan that you can find in the refrigerated section in either bags or plastic tubs at the grocery store. It does not work as well with the sandy-textured Parmesan that you find in the green cans.
  • Second, for best results, use a heavy-duty nonstick pan with enough oil to evenly coat the bottom.
  • And third, be careful not to move the chicken pieces around in the pan until the Parmesan is golden and crispy otherwise, the crust will slide right off!

Low Carb Side Dishes:

  • Mashed Cauliflower- Mash up your cauliflower and you will not even know they are not mashed potatoes.
  • Cauliflower Rice- I sautéed the cauliflower with some olive oil, garlic, salt & pepper.
  • Zoodles- Zucchini or carrot noodles are great for this dish
  • Side Salad- I love salads, just mix up your favorite veggies and top with a balsamic vinaigrette.
  • Spaghetti Squash- I love roasted spaghetti squash. One squash makes a large amount so you will have leftovers for the whole week.

Something I always seem to have in my grocery basket are chicken and broccoli. Both are super versatile ingredients and they also happen to go fabulously together, like in this easy chicken and broccoli stir-fry recipe.

I used a couple of Asian stir fry recipes for inspiration and adjusted the ingredients to make this a low-carb version. Its super simple to make with a handful of ingredients you most likely already have. I make it in a frying pan you can use a skillet or a wok.

  • Before cooking, allow chicken breasts to come to room temperature. The chicken will cook faster and youll get a nice sear on the surface if you cook chicken in the pan. When chicken breasts is cold from the refrigerator, it tends to steam in the pan and render moisture.
  • How long to cook chicken breasts: Large chicken breasts take about 20-22 minutes to cook. Medium-sized breasts take between 18 and 20 minutes. If you bake chicken breasts in the oven and for a crisp finish, turn the broiler mode on for 2 minutes to get these nice golden edges.
  • Allow the chicken breasts to rest for 3-5 minutes once they are done cooking. If you cut into a chicken breast right away for serving, the juices inside the meat are super hot and they will leak out of the breast and make it dry and tough. When you let the juices reflow into the meat when resting, the chicken breast keeps its moisture and tenderness.

  • Keep the rest of the cauliflower to make cauliflower rice for another dinner.
  • If youre super hungry, serve the parmesan chicken casserole and cauliflower with a salad or over rice.

  • Instant pot crack chicken Prepare the cream cheese mixture and chop your bacon. Add the seasoned chicken breast fillets to the bottom of an instant pot and spread with the cream cheese. Sprinkle the bacon and shredded cheese on top and cook on high for 15 minutes. Remove the lid and let everything sit for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Slow cooker crack chicken A little bit different to the original method, as the chicken will be shredded once it has cooked.
