- Chocolate Chip Try white, milk, or dark chocolate chips. All of them are sugar-free and taste great!
- Cookie Dough Add chunks of keto cookie dough or keto chocolate chip cookies.
- Sea Salt Caramel Swirl in sugar-free caramel sauce . If you like streaks, stop churning once it gets streaky. This method also works with sugar-free chocolate syrup for chocolate swirls.
- Butter Pecan Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add 1 cup pecans and 1 tablespoon Besti. Toast pecans for 4-5 minutes, stirring often. Cool completely. Follow the sugar-free ice cream recipe as written, and stir the pecans into the mixture afteer the cream and almond milk in step 4. You can also make this caramel butter pecan by swirling in caramel sauce at the end, as described above.

How To Make Ice Cream Without An Ice Cream Maker
If you want healthy homemade ice cream but do not have an ice cream machine, you can make your ice cream mixture in your kitchen blender and then freeze it in popsicle molds.
If a recipe needs an ice cream maker but you don’t have one, simply pour the mixture into a freezer-safe wide shallow dish then place it in the freezer. Stir every 30-60 minutes to break up any frozen areas, to help speed up freezing time, and to help aerate the mixture.
Can I Make This In An Ice Cream Maker
If you have an ice cream maker, you can definitely make this coconut milk ice cream in it!
Follow the blender directions and freeze the mixture for about 45 minutes. Once it has frozen slightly, transfer it to the ice cream maker. Follow the ice cream maker instructions until thick and creamy. Transfer to the freezer and allow to freeze for an hour.

This No Churn Dairy Free Keto Vanilla Ice Cream recipe might just be the easiest recipe youve ever made! All you have to do is combine all the ingredients together in a blender and place it in the freezer in an airtight container!
We found these freezer friendly airtight containers that are made specifically for ice cream! You can scoop your ice cream out in one long scoop with this container design. We love it! In fact, I love it so much that I bought 4 different containers! Keto ice cream is expensive in the stores and it really doesnt take much to make your own!
We made this recipe dairy free. It uses unsweetened coconut milk and coconut cream. The key to making this recipe scoopable is the Allulose sweetener and the vegetable glycerin in this recipe. Both of these ingredients help them to be a tad softener than normal ice cream.
After you freeze them ice cream, you can heat it in the microwave for just about 10 seconds to make it much easier to scoop.

No, regular ice cream is not keto friendly. While it does not have grains or other starchy carbs, ice cream is loaded with sugar, so is not suitable for a keto diet. There are a few keto ice cream brands out there, but when you make your own, you know exactly whats in it. Fortunately, its very simple to make keto friendly ice cream at home and similar to making the regular kind so you can enjoy ice cream on keto again.
In fact, its much easier to make low carb ice cream taste authentic compared to keto baking recipes, because the only swap we need is the sweetener and were not trying to make any low carb flours mimic wheat.
The key component in this keto friendly ice cream is the sugar-free sweetened condensed milk. It works in keto ice cream recipes the same way as conventional versions that are not custard-based.
The sweetener you use is VERY important, because most sugar substitutes have a higher freezing point than that of sugar, resulting in rock-hard ice cream. Plus, they dont dissolve well. This is why I only use Besti Powdered Sweetener for all my low carb ice cream recipes. It dissolves effortlessly for a smooth texture, but even more important, it keeps your ice cream soft and scoopable, just like the kind made with sugar.

Secret #: Add Alcohol
Yes, booze it up! Did you know alcohol doesnt freeze? Adding it makes the ice cream NOT turn rock hard in the freezer. It keeps it soft and creamy! Trust me, you *dont* want a solid block of ICE for dessert. You want ice CREAM. I used 2 Tbs of Mexican Vanilla extract, but you could also combine rum or vodka with your vanilla if you want! But I seriously LOVE the flavor of this Mexican vanilla.

Low Carb Sweetener Options
If you don’t have chocolate liquid stevia you can just use plain or even vanilla. I tried just ½ teaspoon and let my children share with me but we all thought it was not sweet enough.
If you don’t have any liquid stevia you can use packets of stevia. I would suggest 3.
You could also try Chocolate liquid Monk Fruit or use my Sweetener Guide & Conversion Chart for other options.
If you don’t want to make my Coffee Simple Syrup, use liquid Allulose.
I do not recommend using erythritol because it tends to crystalize the ice cream and after freezing is very rock solid and hard.
Low Carb Ice Cream Ingredients

FYI: Older versions of this recipe included 1/4 cup of MCT oil.
The reason for the MCT oil was to lower the freezing point and help make the ice cream soft and scoopable. However, I no longer include this because: a) using Besti solves the problem of rock-hard ice cream, and b) the oil can make the ice cream taste, well, a little oily. You can still at it if you like, but its not my favorite.

Snow Monkey Superfood Ice Treat
Although they market it as an ice treat Ive seen this brand refer to their product as an ice cream alternative in various places. Unfortunately, no matter what you call this frozen dessert, not many people are loving it. Its icy, a bit powdery, and is a bit lighter in sweetness than many consumers expect.
- Sweeteners: banana puree, water, apple puree, maple syrup in select flavors
- Calories per 1/2 cup: 98 to 102
- Sugars per 1/2 cup: 10 to 14 grams
Keto Ice Cream Flavors
For these sugar-free ice cream flavors, the ingredients will be fully combined into the ice cream mixture .
- Chocolate Whisk 1/4 cup of cocoa powder in at step 4. If it doesnt want to dissolve, heat slightly to dissolve. I also have a custard-based keto chocolate ice cream recipe that uses egg yolks.
- Hazelnut Follow the recipe in my Easy Keto Cookbook.
- Mint Chip Reduce vanilla to 1 teaspoon, and add 1 teaspoon mint or peppermint extract at the same step. If desired, you can add green food coloring for color. For the chips, see chocolate chip ideas below.

Homemade Blackberry Ice Cream Recipe
Its that time of year when the local woods and hedgerows are weighed down by blackberries, ripe for the picking! You can make the most of natures bounty with this fantastic recipe.

Best Sugar Substitute For Keto Vegan Mocha Ice Cream
You could also use the stevia and erythritol-based brand Pyure for this ice cream. However, if using Pyure you will want to use half the amount called for in this recipe since its a much sweeter choice.
Lastly, if you cant easily find a more natural sugar substitute you can also use Splendaor a generic brand of the same. It will work with great success. I know not everyone would agree with me here and I respect that but in my book, its still better than regular sugar.
