Are There Any Downsides
While nutrient rich, low carb breads are not low in calories, with an average serve of 2 small slices offering close to 300 calories. In general, the slices are also generally small, and the abundance of seeds mean that you are fighting to actually find the soft bread amongst the seeds and grains which does not make low carb breads great for use in sandwiches.
It should also be said that some of the low carb loaves available are heavily processed, with a range of formulated flours and additives used to give it the look, taste and consistency of regular bread. Nutritionally this means it may tick the box as a high protein, low carb product, but it still remains processed and as such lacking the natural nutritional profile a good quality, minimally processed dense grain bread offers.
The Easiest Bread Making Method
All you need is a hand whisk, a spoon, two bowls and a small loaf tin. Pile dry ingredients into one bowl and mix well, using a manual whisk. Dont be lazy on this step, or youll risk ending up with a lumpy loaf. Yep. It happened to me once. In my pathetic attempt to minimise washing up, I shoved everything in one bowl, without even sifting the baking powder. My loaf turned out with growths. Nice taste, but far not so visually appealing.
Weigh the cream cheese in the second bowl, add the salt, then soften it using a hand whisk. Add whole eggs to the cream cheese, one at a time. Combine dry and wet ingredients. Pour into a lightly buttered loaf tin. Bake for about 35 minutes. Lightning fast.
The Amazing Low Carb Keto Protein Bread Loaf is light, dry, but spongy just like an ordinary sandwich bread loaf. Obviously, with no gluten and no yeast to bind fibers, this loaf wont rise like traditional bread. Using the same size tin indicated in the recipe below, It will only rise to about 7-8 cm.
This bread keeps for days and doesnt change in structure or flavour, so you wont even need to re-heat it. But who can resist cheese on toast or a toasted sandwich when your home made bread is delicious and so low-carb?
But enough verbosity. Here is the recipe.
The Story Behind This Recipe
The supermarkets show a clear picture: protein bread is becoming more and more popular! Meanwhile you can buy it in almost all supermarkets and for a good reason! Protein breadonly has a few carbohydrates, but a lot of protein. Since protein is a way to lose weight for many people, many supermarkets offer it, as a kind of weight-loss product for a healthy breakfast.
Unfortunately, the bread available in grocery stores does not really live up to its promise. Because protein bread from the supermarket often contains significantly more calories than regular bread. As a result, many people who live exclusively on it tend to gain weight rather than lose it. As a result, the reputation of reduced bread as a carbohydrate suffers.

Keto Chicken Only Bread: No Vegetables Added
The chicken only keto bread is viable: its sliceable and surprisingly doesnt have a too chickeny taste thanks to the addition of Parmesan cheese. It is the third best bread on this list, behind the ones that include lettuce and cabbage, respectively.
The reason why the chicken only keto bread falls behind isnt the taste, but the texture: the heavier dough doesnt rise as much. The addition of vegetables lightens up the batter and makes the keto bread fluffier, and fluffier = better in my dictionary.

How To Choose The Best Low
When you have diabetes, its important to choose foods that will help keep your blood sugar levels in check. bread is a great option for diabetics as its a complex carbohydrate, which means it takes longer for your body to break down and absorb the sugars. This can help prevent blood sugar spikes after meals.
There are a few things to look for when choosing low-carb bread for diabetics:
- Look for bread that is made with whole grains, as these will be higher in fiber and take longer to digest.
- Avoid bread that is made with refined flour or has added sugars.
- Choose bread that has a lower glycemic index, as this will cause less of a spike in blood sugar levels.
Keto Cabbage Chicken Bread
Cabbage worked well for this keto bread texture, but it tasted funny. I dont know how to explain this, as I absolutely love cabbage in all its forms specially sauerkraut but I think the taste just didnt match my keto bread expectations. Still, it is the second best bread on this list, only behind our favorite, the keto chicken and lettuce bread.

Make Low Carb Bread Using Egg Whites
I have been working with clients wanting to lose weight using a low carb/keto approach. During this time, Ive found that my almond flour keto bread has too much fat to be helpful to my clients anymore.
In my opinion, being able to add butter, mayonnaise, butter or cheese to a sandwich makes it a little more interesting, keeping keto sustainable long term.
This made me think, maybe I could take my cloud bread recipe and just make a loaf from that recipe. I wanted to keep it simple, using ingredients you can purchase from your grocery store. Always using ingredients you have to purchase online just makes everyone frustrated.
Whilst these recipes are great adding sour cream means you cant add other delicious fats.
Also, allulose is whats called a rare sugar, and when made commercially, manufacturers use enzymes to convert fructose from corn and other plants into allulose. Not exactly what I call health food.
This bread is made with only 3 ingredients. Egg whites, whey protein powder and cream of Tartar. All available at your local grocery store.

Keto Chicken Bread Without Chicken
This was really just a test, and I didnt expect anything good to come out of it. But if you come from a scientific background youll understand why I had to do it: I needed to see exactly what the chicken was bringing to this blender keto bread, in terms of structure and flavor.
Surprisingly, it also became bread: it had a bread shape , we could slice and butter it and it held together pretty well. But it didnt taste like bread, more like a cheesy omelet as most keto bread recipes out there do, anyways. Not bad by any means, but it cant really be called bread. At least I could confirm: the dryness of the chicken breast flour is what gave this keto recipe the real bread texture.

Protein Powder And Bread A Match Made In Heaven
Who would have known! Protein powder. To make bread. Never to be seen on The Great British Bake Off, Im sure!
However. It works and thats all that matters.
Now. About protein powder. I know there are many kinds you can buy. Isolate, concentrate, whey, rice, soy, pea I admit I know absolutely nothing about the differences and even less about which is best and which should be avoided. Nor do I wish to spend time on the internet reading all this mind-boggling information about protein. Ill leave that to body builders and gym fans.
But with such a variety of options available, I wonder if, had I used a different protein powder, my Amazing Low Carb Keto Protein Bread Loaf would have turned out as good. For this reason, and because I wouldnt want you to have a bread flop, I think I should tell you exactly which protein powder I used. You can find it HERE. As a protein powder newbie, my reasons for choosing this whey protein isolate were that: a) it is from a brand that I trust and b) it claims to be from grass fed, hormone free cows milk, non GM, no rBGH and gluten free c) it was the least expensive compared to similar products. Bobs your uncle. If youre in the U.S. THIS seems a good option.

As mentioned, baking is a science. You might be able to get away with eyeballing when baking cakes and cookies, but just like making yeasted bread, it is ideal to measure ingredients by scale weight when baking protein bread. For example the egg whites from 6 eggs where Im from yielded 218g of egg whites, whereas Boo needed 7 eggs to hit 210g. Moral of this paragraph: invest in that kitchen scale!
#1 Egg Whites for protein and structure
#2 Cream of tartar as a protein stabiliser
cream of tartar serves as an acidic component in recipes that helps stabilise whipped egg whites. in simple terms, cream of tartar increases the warmth tolerance and volume of egg whites .
- squeeze of: lime/lemon juice, white vinegar
- why it works: is acidic
#3 Unflavored Whey Protein Powder gives structure
- Boo uses Myproteins Unflavored Whey
- Whey/Casein blend: I recommend Select Protein Cake Pop by PEScience if you have a sweet tooth like me!
- Gluten-Free: Oat Flour, Spelt Flour in equal amounts
A Note of Caution: Redditors have observed that using protein powder gives a better rise but poorer texture and flavour compared to regular flour.

What Is A Low
There are many types of bread available on the market today. Choosing the best low-carb bread for diabetics can be a difficult task. There are a few things to consider when choosing the best low-carb bread for diabetics. The first thing to consider is the type of flour used in the bread. Bread made with wheat flour or all-purpose flour is not a good choice for diabetics. These types of flour are high in carbohydrates and will raise blood sugar levels.
Many people think that because a food is low in carbohydrates it must be healthy. This is not always the case. Some low-carbohydrate foods, such as white bread, are actually very high in sugar and calories. It is important to read the labels on all foods, including bread, before purchasing them. The best low-carb bread for diabetics will be made with alternative flour such as almond flour or coconut flour. How Does The Keto Chicken Bread Taste Like
If I said it doesnt taste like chicken at all, I would be lying. So, lets get this out of the way: This keto blender bread will have some chicken taste, and specially smell, because it is mainly made of chicken breast, after all. But it has a proper, real bread shape and texture, different from so many other low carb and keto bread recipes out there. You know the ones Im talking about, with tons of egg whites or cream cheese.
This keto protein bread is savory and tastes good by itself, or with butter, cheese and ham. Its very nice toasted as well, and if youre a fan of avocado toast on keto, congratulations. That being said, Ill state the obvious: I wouldnt recommend it for PB& Js or for spreading keto Nutella on.
I wanted to create here an easy keto bread recipe thats actually low fat.Crazy? Not so. I like to have my fats on top of my bread, not in it. I want to actually feel the decadent texture of the melted cheese, of the smooth cream cheese and the sultry salty butter all over my tongue, please.
Some may say they cant lose weight on a keto diet. Well, poop to that. How dare they make a fathead dough bread or pizza and then top it up with another brick of cream cheese and a pound of mozzarella and say the keto diet is to blame their lack of 6-pack abs. Its not. Its the amount of calories they are eating in the wrong places.
