The Trick With Keto Chocolate Layer Dessert

Sex In A Pan Dessert Recipe (Sugar-Free, Low Carb, Gluten-Free)

Now, I already fixed the majority of the first problem with layered low carb desserts the waiting! I say majority because I still recommend refrigerating it for an hour or two at the very end before serving. But, unlike other chocolate layer dessert recipes, at least you dont have to wait between layers.

So, the only slight challenge thats left with a treat like this? Apparently, a creamy six layer dessert can be tricky to remove from the pan. It always falls apart on me! The first piece definitely wont look pretty, so be prepared for that.

After that one piece, make sure youre cutting all the way through the crust layer and use a thin, sturdy spatula to remove each piece from the pan. I love this silicone cookie spatula, which is the perfect size.

Just remember, it will still taste delicious even if you mess up on the serving process. And if you love chocolate and whipped cream, it will be one of the best low carb desserts youve ever had.

Every Type Of Diabetes

Youll find recipes for classic chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies, and peanut butter cookies. There are also exciting low-carb cookie recipes like pistachio cookies and pumpkin spice snickerdoodles.

All the recipes are keto-friendly and gluten-free. Most of them are very easy, using only one bowl and ready in under an hour. Quick and simple like all good cookie recipes should be.

Give these recipes a try and serve them to family and friends for tea time. They will love how delicious they are and will be amazed that theyre healthy too!

Tools Used To Make This Lemon Cake

This recipe was super easy and all I used were these few kitchen tools from start to finish.

  • Hand mixer– to mix the batter well I used a hand mixer to get the job done quickly
  • Stainless Steel Bowl– my preference is always to use a stainless steel bowl over glass bowls, although for some ingredients glass is better.
  • Whisk – simply helps to mix the wet and dry ingredients
  • Rubber Spatula – helps bring the batter together when adding the lemon juice before mixing with the handheld mixer.

How To Read Nutrition Labels

Sugar Free Low Carb Desserts For Diabetics / Double Chocolate Brownies ...

If youre not already trained in reading labels, you might be shocked at how easy it is to exceed these limits . For example:

  • 1 8-oz cup of organic orange juice contains 25 grams of sugar , the entire daily intake for women.
  • 1 nutrition bar contains 21 grams of sugar
  • 1 açaí bowl can contain up to 65 grams of sugar , depending on the toppings.

While it is important to learn ways to curb your sugar cravings, you can still indulge sometimes when your sweet tooth strikes. You just have to learn which low sugar desserts to look for when youre grocery shopping.

Still, even low-sugar desserts can set you on a blood sugar rollercoaster, and make you crave more sweet foods. Keep the following desserts to a once in awhile treat instead of a daily indulgence.

Here are some of our favorite low sugar desserts and low carb desserts and sweeteners that you can find at your local grocery store:

Keto-friendly, sugar-free chocolate mousse with just three ingredients? It cant be!

Tips For Preparing The Perfect Filling

Making the filling for this cheesecake is as simple as mixing together the ingredients. Its a breeze! However, I do have a few pointers to make sure the filling turns out as creamy, smooth, and delicious as possible!

First, using a powdered granulated sweetener is a must for this recipe. Powdered sweetener will melt evenly through the filling for a perfect, smooth texture.

If your sweetener is granulated, simply blend it in a high-speed blender for 20-30 seconds.

With cheesecake, our goal is to make a smooth custard filling that is light and creamy. Thats why I recommend beating the filling in two steps:

  • Firstly, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sweetener until fluffy and well mixed.
  • Then, beat in the eggs one at a time until just incorporated before mixing in the rest of the ingredients.
  • To avoid bubbles forming in the filling, be careful not to overbeat the mixture. You simply want everything to be nice and smooth for a perfect, evenly-set cheesecake.

Youll get all that great texture from the peas, and of course, so much rich indulgence from the cocoa powder.

Youll want to be sure to use Dutch cocoa if possible, or something equally as dark for the most pronounced taste.

I used maple syrup, but Im sure a sweetener would work wonders, too.

Is A Low Carb Diet Good For Diabetes

A consistent low carb diet for diabetes isnât necessary. It can certainly be done, but if thatâs not a route you want to take, you definitely donât have to. There are times when you may need to rely on a low carb recipe or option but it doesnât mean you have to do that all of the time. Whether or not to follow a low carb diet for type 2 diabetes or a low carb diet for type 1 diabetes should be a decision you discuss with your doctor and/or diabetes educator.

Should You Eat Complex Carbs For Diabetes

Have you ever heard the term âsmart carbsâ? If you have, odds are it was referring to complex carbohydrates. These are also sometimes referred to as âgood carbsâ, though I really donât like that phrase. These types of carbohydrates are simply more complex and take longer for the body to break down. This means they are less likely to cause spikes in blood sugar levels after you eat them. While being low in carbs, many of the recipes below also contain complex carbohydrates.

I especially wanted to make this cake full of lemon flavour so I used a full lemon for the batter. I also used only almond flour as I find it doesn’t get as dry as other flours, so to hold in the moisture.

    • Almond Flour: the base of this cake is made with almond flour, keeping it low carb and giving it a slight nutty flavour.
    • Lemon: of course without lemon it would be very sad, using lemon zest and lemon juice
    • Butter: adding just the right amount of butter to add moisture and richness to this low carb lemon cake
    • Erythritol: I used granular for the batter and powdered for the topping. I sometimes prefer granular in cake batters as I enjoy that slight crystalized mouth feel. Powdered would work as well.
    • Egg: Controlling the structure of this lemon cake recipe, keeping it all together

    Main Differences In Diabetic

Before we get to the full list of sugar-free cakes, let’s talk about some of the ingredients you’ll find in low-carb, keto and diabetic dessert recipes.

The biggest ingredient changes you will notice are:

    • The type of flour used. Coconut flour and almond flour are the two most popular choices due to their nutritional profile, which includes high fiber and low net carbs.
    • Almond flour is sort of like the all purpose flour of low-carb baking. While almond flour and coconut flour are not interchangeable, they each have their place in developing low-sugar cake! I often combine them which is a great way to achieve the best cake texture.
    • There is no added sugar. Instead, choose low glycemic sugar substitutes like monk fruit sweetener, erythritol, allulose or stevia.
    • There are many natural sweeteners and artificial sweeteners on the market these days so make sure you understand your choices and how they affect your own glucose levels.
    • I think granulated monk fruit sweetener is the best sugar substitute as it’s the easiest to work with and has a delicious sweet taste that is the closest to sugar. I like Lakanto which carries a wide range of excellent sugar substitutes, from a brown sugar alternative to a powdered erythritol/monk fruit blend that is perfect for frostings or other whipped topping recipes.

    Peanut Butter Cheesecake Mousse Pie

When you hear no bake in a recipe does it make you excited? I’m all about less heating up the kitchen in the warmer months so my mission has been to create luscious no bake recipes lately. This peanut butter pie has been something on my mind for a long time. Ever since I made my no bake raspberry cheesecake mousse and before that my pumpkin cheesecake mousse, and a mint chocolate cheesecake mousse, I knew a peanut butter one was a must have for the summer.

I made this specifically when I knew I was having guests for a party, because quite honestly having this incredible pie around for too long in my house would have been too much of a temptation. So I waited…….

If you saw my recent recipe of Sparkling Basil Lemonade then you know why everyone was coming over. If not you can check it over now and come back here for the review from my friends about this pie!

The lovely friends who joined me for the party were my guinea pigs and all tried a piece to offer their opinions. I love honest opinions, but I was pretty confident this pie was gonna rock their world. Many who attended are not accustomed to eating sugar-free desserts so I knew it had to be good to prove to them desserts without sugar can be just as delicious.

I mean seriously, does it look any different or less delicious knowing it’s made sugar free? I think not!

How To Make Low Carb Lemon Cake

STEP 1: Using a handheld mixer or stand mixer cream the butter and erythritol in a large bowl until fluffy, about 1 minute. Then add the remaining ingredients except the lemon zest or juice and mix again. Scrape down sides of bowl if needed.

STEP 2: Zest the lemon and squeeze the juice into the same bowl and then mix again until well combined.

STEP 3: Transfer cake batter to an 8 or 9 inch generously greased cake pan and spread evenly.

    • STEP 4: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 35 minutes or until top of cake is lightly golden and poking with a toothpick comes out clean.

STEP 5: Remove cake from oven and allow to completely cool in the pan before removing. I flipped mine over onto a cutting board once cooled and then topped with a dusting of powdered erythritol and more lemon zest.

Layers In Sex In A Pan Dessert

Traditionally, sex in a pan dessert contains six layers. These include:

    • Pecan shortbread crust
    • Whipped cream
    • Shaved chocolate

All the versions that I know of are made with sugar and wheat flour. In fact, a couple of the layers usually include instant pudding. For me, these would be no, no, and definitely not.

I knew there was a way to make it better and low carb without sacrificing the sinfully delicious taste and texture.

My take on chocolate layer dessert isnt exactly healthy, but at least it is gluten-free, sugar-free, and made without questionable ingredients.

It does include similar basic layers:

    • Pecan shortbread crust
    • Whipped cream
    • Shaved chocolate

Okay, its not quite identical. But, its close enough that Im still declaring it sex in a pan.

Best of all, none of my extended family could tell the difference when I served it. Yay!
